Yamunotri Dham Yatra — 2N/3D from Haridwar
Package Overview
Embark on the sacred Yamunotri Dham Yatra — a 2 Nights / 3 Days pilgrimage from Haridwar to the source of the River Yamuna at 3,293m in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Yamunotri is the westernmost shrine in the Char Dham circuit and the first stop on the traditional Char Dham Yatra.
Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, the sister of Yama (God of Death). The temple houses a black marble idol of the goddess. The sacred hot spring of Surya Kund, where devotees cook rice as prasad, and the Divya Shila (a rock pillar worshipped before entering the temple) are key highlights. The 6 km trek from Janki Chatti to Yamunotri passes through dense Himalayan forests, waterfalls, and stunning mountain scenery.
The temple opens on Akshaya Tritiya (April/May) and closes on Yama Dwitiya (October/November). During winter, the deity is worshipped at Kharsali village near Janki Chatti.
